What I say in the video

Make a box and write on it, in capitals, SURVIVAL. It is the moving-day tip people thank me for most. Yes, in capitals and with a thick marker. You will see that at eleven at night it does not feel so over the top.

Because moving day always ends the same way: it is eleven at night, there are twenty-three identical boxes and you are looking for the toilet paper by opening every one of them.

The survival box holds the toilet paper, soap, a towel, sheets, a glass, the phone charger, a knife, a few light bulbs and some underwear. Oh, and the coffee maker, because the coffee maker in the morning is half the flat. This box is the last one in and the first one opened.

And while we are making lists: set up the electricity and water the day before, not the same day. There is nothing sadder than moving into a flat in the dark.
