3 things that decide the deposit. Everyone gets the last one wrong

2026-08-28 · 3 things that decide the deposit. Everyone gets the last one wrong Watch on YouTube

What I say in the video

Three things decide the deposit, and everyone gets the last one wrong.

First: the check-out report. Without a document signed on the day the keys are handed back, the argument a month later is one person's word against the other's.

Second: the photographs from day one. The ones from the end are worthless if there is nothing to compare them with.

And the one everyone gets wrong: "I won't pay the last month, the deposit covers it." It covers nothing: it is non-payment. And in Catalonia the landlord does not even hold the deposit; it sits with INCASÒL, the Catalan housing agency. You pay the last month, you sign the key handover and, from that day, there is one month to return the deposit.
